everything has a beginning

I’ve had the domain spillinglight for almost exactly a year; I know this because as I was implementing the blog this weekend I realise that it is up for renewal in 50-or-so-days. My intentions to create a photography blog extend back even further than this, and it’s something I have planned but never made the time to sit down and just do.

And, this, is what marks the beginning of a new ambition – to truly share my work, thoughts and ideas that normally only those involved get to enjoy. I’ve probably had very similar thoughts to others along the lines of “I will never have time in my professional life to publish a blog along with all the other projects I have taken on.” Of course, this led to wondering how other busy people possibly have time to share so much with the world. My conclusion? They make the time.

So here it is… beginnings are very often awkward; whether it is a new friendship or the start of a project which will lead to greater things. To break the proverbial ice I am starting the beginning with a end. My life long love of Polaroid is clearly coming to an end* and so the end of this era will be melancholy to say the least, however, that doesn’t mean I can’t make it beautiful.

Welcome, enjoy and I hope you come back for more…

*Well, maybe there will be a new beginning for Polaroid too but I am never one to get my hopes up before I see solid results.
