New show submission

Today I’m updating very briefly to show you two pieces that I created for the Dirty Show in Detroit after my friend Kristen let me know about it. I just submitted them now, so we’ll see if they get picked up or not. It was really fun to paint for a show that’s all about erotica. It was outside of what I’d normally illustrate so it was a really great challenge – especially for dealing with the male form which I haven’t really tackled yet.

Sketchbook Snapshot 22.04.10

Another three week long trip and two conventions took me away from my desk for a while! I was a bit disappointed in my lack of time/motivation to sketch while on the road. I’m going to put it all down to it being a stressful trip of sorts, but I plan to do my best to prevent that from happening in the future.

Inky

Last night, though, I promised a scan on Twitter, so here we are. Funny how we regret things in the morning, eh?

Tentacles in Pots

My tentacle obsession will probably have no end, and thanks to Erika these little guys now sit on my desk. Product photography has shifted in the past few years with more being photographed in appropriate surroundings with a creative twist that was sometimes passed up in order to get a crystal clear and detailed photo.

Not for eating

Squid and Octopus are two of the only beings I still don’t eat after I gave up being completely vegan six years ago. I feel like their intelligence is way too high for me to insult by chowing down on their remains. I know, I know who decides what counts as intelligence and what doesn’t. Well, I’m not here to open a debate on the eating of any beings, it’s just a personal preference.
